FOR HARD CORE ADVENTURERS
Trekking Pro is for the hard core outdoor enthusiast or person who spends a long time in the outdoor environment. These people may go for long remote treks days from civilisation or spend their working days outdoors. We spoke with our Haglöfs friends Klas Grundsten and Ola Skinnarmo, both known for their adventures to the poles and far away destinations. Durability in materials and construction of course is key and a question of safety. To reduce fatigue and again improve safety all solutions must be lightweight, low bulk and easy to use. The products are made versatile to suit changes in weather, temperature and activities. Again reducing weight carried. The colours in this range are classic foresty trekking colours and the styles are designed to stand a lifetime. I was in charge of this collection, specifying the needs, design, selecting suitable fabrics and making sure the outcome was at the hig technical level our users rely on. The collection had a nationwide window campaign with our biggest and most regarded retailers.
The GRYM JACKET is a robust 3-layer Gore Tex Pro shell with all essential features for demanding environments. A nylon face 80 den face fabric is used throughout to protect against wear and tear in varying rough terrain. The protective flaps on the two zippered hand pockets enable for easy access even in wet conditions. Chest pockets are spacious and deep enough for radio and maps.
Additional Velcro fastening along the front zipper allows for ventilation but functions also as quick closure and additional closure if zipper breaks. Underarm ventilation and pre-bent arms are a standard. Cuff adjustment is shaped to be slender when tightened. All for the wearer to have the full range of motion and no distracting bulk.
The hood has an extra protective front against piercing mountain winds. All adjustment cords are hidden for safety not to get caught in sticks or tools. Hang loops are integrated into the designs and wide for easy use. The zip pullers are developed for easy grip without compromising on flexibility or lightness.
GRYM PANT comes in the same outstanding Gore Tex fabric as its jacket friend. On the pant too all zippers are easy gliding and durable laminated vislon zips. Full side zips allow for easy taking on and off and ventilation. Cuffs are adjustable, elasticated to fit tightly around the boot to protect against elements and creepy animals. Insteps are appropriately protected with durable Keprotec.
The back of waist is slightly raised for weather protection and minimal discomfort when wearing back pack hip belt. Facing towards lower back is soft. The waist is simplistic allowing for the users preferred use of belt. Knees are prebent and the fit is adapted to versatile wearability and minimal bulk.
Made in a Polartec Wind Pro fabric the GRANITE HOOD is both a protective softshell and a warm insulation/mid layer. Ceramic finishing on the face of the fabric protects against wear and wind. The hood is fitted to wear easily under the shell jacket hood. It has a high front to cover the chin when cold and windy. Thumb loops and prebent sleeves add comfort.
Chest and hand pockets and their openings are spacious enough for maps and other tools. They are placed to be above the hip belt of the back pack. All construction is designed to minimize bulk and weight.
Rough wearing LEX PANT is made in a four way stretch softshell nylon face fabric. Along with the fabric choice all about the Lex Pant is wide usability, comfort and durability. Thigh ventilation placed towards the back help adjust temperature. Thigh pockets are appropriately spacious and at easy reach. Adjustable cuffs with hooks and a small stowable gaiter inside keeps what should stay outside outside.
GRYM SHIRT, worn on the image on the top of the page, comes in a wonderfully soft cotton feel woven fabric. It is a versatile wind shirt worn as an additional layer or comfortably as a first layer. The collar can be snapped up to protect against sun or wind or snapped down for a basic stand up collar. (See image below.) Good ventilation and easy on and off is provided by the longer front zip. Cuffs and hem are simplistic for easy layering and versatile wear.
